It's getting cooler outside, Kaya unphased

Image
As the brisk autumn days remind us what's coming it is always funny because I've been through so many foster transitions that have never been met with winter and almost go through a regression with potty training and more accidents, etc.  However, based on how Kaya has been running out that door to potty while I'm freezing waiting for her to sniff everything life has to offer....she doesn't care. lol  Then there's this. What a lady! (Don't mind the flip flop.) I'm not even sure if my toddler pulled it out to play pretend, or she was about to devour it. Some kids toys have been demolished in the process of this journey, but my toddler is WAY spoiled, so they are lessons to be learned. lol

Another lounging Saturday

It's funny how energetic she can be. Especially after she poops, she has the zoomies, I call it. She'll literally run from one end of the house to the other jumping on the couch and the bed. I just make sure the 12 pound dog and toddler stay clear. She's getting WAY too comfortable that when we come home and finally relax, she needs to sit next to me, and then proceed to lay down and mark me by rubbing her face all over me. OBVIOUSLY it marked for the perfect selfie!

Cuddle time

It's amazing she just lets my toddler do anything to her hearts content. There are times when my daughter will just want to lay on her and she just doesn't care.  That's it. Update complete.

New friends

We have new pets in the home and after they got acclimated, we decided to see how  the dogs  would take them. This is what we got. There were definitely a lot of sniffing. After we did some education and "gentle" and "be nice". Kaya just laid down and watched.  It's amazing how she will try to pull you so hard when she sees another dog and just the gentle kindness she's shown to my daughter and small creatures. Her playfulness and roughhousing has increased with our 12 pound sheltie and not once has she hurt him. She knows her own strength and so gentle.

Brushing Kaya

Image
It's been about 2 months since her wean from her puppies and her fur is coming back beautifully. She's not molting anymore, although she definitely sheds. Her white fur on my grey floors are kind of crazy, but we love her so .... it's okay.  As her fur grows out more, she has that typical grey/black stripe along her back and just some grey on the tips of her ears and it's so beautiful. Her tail is coming in nicely and poofier!! Can't complain. Now my daughter will also help and say "I brush Kaya" and Kaya just lets her do anything to her. She is just so tolerant and so patient and so gentle. She's the first big dog that doesn't barrel my daughter over and she'll go right up to her and hug her and kiss her face.
